The River Frome at Wareham, Dorset
Having first started developing and printing my own photographs at the age of 7, I went on to study photography at college. Most of my life has been spent employed as a photographer, mainly in the technical and industrial field. Redundancy a few years ago gave me the opportunity to pursue my long-held ambition to spend time concentrating on landscape photography.
Many of the images are made around the two most special times of the day - sunrise and sunset. Sunrise is my favourite as in the early morning everything is often so peaceful - before the day has begun for many people - whereas at the end of the day there can be a rush to get finished before nightfall. Sunrise is also more of a challenge as it often involves leaving home when it is still completely dark, with no chance to assess what the dawn may bring. Living on the edge of the New Forest, most of my work is around the Hampshire and Dorset area, but my camera goes where I go, so you will find images from Cornwall to Scotland!
